ENTERTAINING CHILDREN ON LONG JOURNEYS

While children are likely to be happy enough on a short car trip with a CD playing a few of their favourite Wiggley songs, a longer journey will need more careful preparation.

Here are a few suggestions:

A cuddly toy or two can be a comfort on a long journey
Pack toys that could be used during a lunch break in a park (large inflatable balls, frisbees)
Alternate between games and activities children can do on their own and interactive activities that engage an adult (spotting items that begin with a different letter of the alphabet, counting animals, who am I games)
